about

Gisela Mulindwa is an experimental animator and visual artist based in South east London. She completed a BA Hons in Animation at Edinburgh College of art in 2021.

Her practice focuses on experimenting with mixed media, using stop motion animation she plays with collage, paint, clay and model making to visualise ideas.

Her work highlights the absurd within understanding identity in relation to societal expectation. She focuses on the use of dense textures to insist reality within the hyperreal and with vibrant imagery challenges people to analyse the relationship between the self and other.

PROFILE

Based in London I am interested in using animation as an art form and an exciting way to explore film. I have used experimental animation as a way to explore various mediums and finding exciting ways to visualise storytelling. I enjoy finding unique solutions and different ways to best evoke emotions and feelings. I have developed technical skills but also collaborating and creating ideas with others.
